'Star Wars Symposium' Later This Month at Library

A look at what's coming up in and around Lynnfield.

Today is Wednesday, October 16. Here are five things worth knowing today. 

Looking ahead to later this  month, the Lynnfield Library hosts a “Star Wars Symposium” for kids aged 5 and up with Jason Bloom, who will lead a fun program that includes a trivia contest, Star Wars costume contest, games and more. 

Town Meeting is less than a week away – Monday, October 21 at 7 p.m. at Lynnfield Middle School. Arriving early helps ensure a prompt quorum.

You can enjoy a fun night out and help support a number of local nonprofits at an event being planned to open the new Kings at MarketStreet Lynnfield on Tuesday, October 29 starting at 6:30 p.m. The evening includes a hosted bar, appetizers and bowling, billiards, and more. The ongoing lecture series to mark the 100th anniversary of the Americal Civic Center continues this evening at 7 p.m. when historian John Wall talks about The Wakefield Armory at the civic center on Main Street in Wakefield.

Local nonprofit group BKP, which sends donated children’s books to library in the Phillippines, is holding its annual Dinner Dance on Saturday, October 19 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at the Wakefield Elks Lodge, 63 Bay State Road.
