Bring Your Own Pumpkin Carving Party At The Library Tonight

Today is Thursday, October 24. Here are five things worth knowing today.

On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., the Lynnfield Library holds a Bring Your Own Pumpkin Decorating PJ Party for the kids. Spooky stories and a snack are also planned. Just bring your own pumpkins.

You can enjoy a fun night out and help support a number of local nonprofits at an event being planned to open the new Kings at MarketStreet Lynnfield on Tuesday, October 29 starting at 6:30 p.m. The evening includes a hosted bar, appetizers and bowling, billiards, and more. Friday at 5:15 p.m. , Nancy Bertrand of the Wakefield Historical Society leads a Twilight Tour of the town’s Old Burying Ground, on Church Street.  Learn more about the tour and the cemetery here.

Wakefield’s annual “Fright Night” celebration is tonight, featuring downtown trick or treating and the annual carved pumpkin display on the front steps of the library starting at 6 p.m.  Learn more here.

On Saturday, the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church at 273 Vernon Street holds its fall fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring local crafts, baked goods and more – including frozen homemade apple pies. Coffee and muffins served 9 to 11:30 a.m. and chowder lunch served 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade pie served all day.
