Nan Hockenbury currently serves as chair of the Historical Commission and incoming President of the Historical Society. She spent her youth as a Lynnfield resident, and also chose Lynnfield as the place to raise her own children, who are now grown and living out of town.
After careers in retail sales and the graphic arts, Nan earned both a Masters in Education and Fine Arts. She works independently as a painter.
In taking on her new position at the Lynnfield Historical Commission, Nan has come to realize that Mr. Hall's American History class was more relevant to Lynnfield than expected, and she works with her colleagues to create an awareness of Lynnfield's history. Along with Commission duties, she is currently working to catalog and conserve the collections of the Historical Society.
