Meet Tom McGee, Lynnfield's New State Senator

Redistricting brought a new state senator to Lynnfield the first of the year.

Lynnfield may be a new part of State Senator Tom McGee's district, but the lawmaker has known the town well for much of his life. McGee, a Lynn Democrat, became the new state senator for Lynnfield following the latest round of redistricting. Prior to that, the town was represented by State Senator Katherine Clark, a Democrat from Melrose. In fact, during a recent conversation with Lynnfield Patch, McGee recalled that he briefly represented the town back in 2002 when he was first elected to the state senate in a special election to replace Edward "Chip" Clancy. The MBTA is a waste and should be scaled back significantly because almost everybody drives now a days! But since the government controls the price of fuel by keeping prices high, they are forcing people to use public transportation and jacking up the price on the T. McGee Announces Office Hours For Lynnfield

Town's new state senator will hold first constituent service time later this month.

Last year's redistricting process brought a new state senator to Lynnfield - Thomas McGee, a Lynn Democrat whose district includes Lynn, Saugus, Swampscott, Marblehead and Nahant. This week, McGee announced that his first constituent service time in Lynnfield will be on Friday, January 25th from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the conference room of town hall. District hours will be held on the fourth Friday of each month. Any Lynnfield constituent is invited to visit during the office hours to discuss state government issues or concerns. McGee has served in the State Senate since 2002 and before that spent several terms as a state legislator. He currently chairs the transportation committee.
