Date for 2013 Lynnfield Father-Daughter Dance Announced

Popular town tradition takes place each spring.

The annual Lynnfield Father-Daughter dance will be held this year on Sunday, April 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sheraton Colonial Hotel, reported Lynnfield Recreation Director Julie Mallett Thursday evening in an email to Lynnfield Patch. Ticket information will be provided soon.

Winners Announced In Lynnfield Gingerbread House Contest

Winners named in a variety of different categories following this weekend's gingerbread house contest.

The following is a letter to the editor from Lynnfield Recreation Director Julie Mallett. Below that is a list of the winners from the annual gingerbread house contest, which was held Saturday at the Centre Congregational Church. Recreation Commission Announces BC Football Outing

Get your tickets by tomorrow, Oct. 24., for trip to BC - Virginia Tech game at Alumni Stadium next month.

The Lynnfield Recreation Commission is heading to Alumni Stadium to cheer on the BC Eagles during Youth Football Day, on Saturday, Nov. 17! The Eagles are playing Virginia Tech. Tickets are $15. The time is still TBD as they are waiting to hear from the network.  Most likely it will be in the afternoon. Please send in your payment to 55 Summer Street Lynnfield MA 01940.  Checks should be made out to LRC. Lynnfield Recreation Commission had recent trip to see the Futures of Fenway game in Boston, featuring top Red Sox prospects.

Earlier this month, the Lynnfield Recreation Commission held an outing to the Futures of Fenway game in Boston, which highlights some of the top Red Sox minor league prospects. These photos show some of the local youngsters who got to check out the Fenway field close up. "We had great seats where we enjoyed 2 games, discounted food, face painting, and autographs from the players. The best part was participating in the pre game parade on the field!  It was definitely a great family experience and we are looking forward to going again next year," reported Lynnfield Recreation Director Julie Mallett in an email to local media.

Rec. Commission Announces Two New August Activities

Trip to Futures of Fenway game on August 18 with Spinners and PawSox, plus Summer Slam Basketball program for girls in grades 4-9.

The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield Recreation Commission: The Lynnfield Recreation Commission is going to the Futures of Fenway on Saturday August 18, 2012. Come and enjoy with us an afternoon of baseball at Fenway Park featuring The Lowell Spinners and Pawtucket Red Sox. Four New Members Join Rec. Commission

Selectmen confirm new members in light of recent resignations and two expiring terms. Other appointments include Dave Nelson to RMLD Citizen Advisory Board, and Carol MacKendrick to cultural commission.

The Lynnfield Recreation Commission is getting an infusion of new members following approval by the board of selectmen at this week's meeting. Two of the vacancies came up because the terms of members Bob McDonald and Wayne Shaffer are expiring. The other two vacancies stemmed from the resignations of Chris Barrett, who was elected to the school committee this spring, and Vince Inglese. Three of the new members - John Judd, Frank Morelli and Robert Relihan, will serve full three-year terms, while Rod Boone will serve out the remaining two years of one of the vacancies. As the new members were confirmed, Selectman Al Merritt noted that all of them have been very active in the town's youth sports programs, and he also cited their potential …
