Text Of Lynnfield's 2012 Town Warrant

Lynnfield voters will be asked to consider 24 warrant items at town meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Lynnfield Middle School.

Complete Lynnfield Town Election Results

Here are the full results from Monday's town election.

On Monday night, Lynnfield voters went to the polls and chose a new selectman, two new school committee members, and a new assessor, while also voting in a number of uncontested races. Here are the complete results from the 2012 town election. With 9,091 eligible voters in town and with 1,778 total ballots cast, this year's turnout was 20%.         17   Planning Board, 5 year

Terranova Thanks Supporters After Election

Candidate ran against Dave Nelson in 2012 Lynnfield selectman's race.

Tom Terranova thanked his supporters and sent best wishes to his former rival in the selectman's race on Tuesday morning. The following is a statement that Terranova provided to Lynnfield Patch Tuesday morning, following the town election. "I want to thank my election committee and the nearly 700 voters that came out to support my campaign for selectman and remind them how important their VOICE is. My feelings for our town have not changed and I will continue to support Lynnfield as I have for the previous 14 years with the same passion and enthusiasm that I bring to all aspects of my life. I wish the new Selectman the best in helping to lead our town."

Dave Nelson Sworn In As Newest Lynnfield Selectman

Nelson wins selectman's race over Tom Terranova by 1,060-693 margin.

Lynnfield's newest selectman was sworn into office Monday night, minutes after polls closed in the 2012 town election. Dave Nelson, the current board of assessors chair, took three of the town's four precincts against rival Tom Terranova, a CPA who co-chairs the town Recreation Commission. Nelson won precinct 1 by a 344-157 margin, precinct 2 by a 180-127 margin and precinct 4 by 353-192 votes. Terranova took precinct 3 by a 217 to 183 margin. The total townwide vote was 1,060 to 693 for Nelson. "There's lots to do," said Nelson soon after being sworn in by Assistant Town Clerk Diane Hammerbeck. Town Voters Pick New School Committee Members, Assessor

Chris Barrett and Sal Cammarata are newest members of Lynnfield School Committee. Don Garrity elected assessor.

Along with deciding the selectman's race, Lynnfield voters sent two new members to the school committee on Monday night, and also elected a new assessor. For the school committee, Christopher Barrett and Salvatore Cammarata are the two newest members, replacing outgoing members Michael Craffey and Tim Doyle. Former school committee member Jim Dillon came up short in his bid to return to the committee he served on for 15 years before leaving two years ago. Looking ahead, Barrett said he was "totally humbled" by the show of support from town voters, adding that "I hope to use that confidence to work to make sure that our schools remain Lynnfield's pride." Dave Nelson Wins Lynnfield Selectmen's Race

Nelson takes three of four town precincts in race against Tom Terranova.

Dave Nelson was sworn in as the newest member of the Lynnfield Board of Selectmen Monday night shortly after polls closed in the town election. Nelson took three of the four precincts in Lynnfield for an electoral margin of 1,063 votes to 693 votes for rival Tom Terranova. For the two open school committee seats, Chris Barrett and Sal Cammarata were the two winners, with James Dillon coming up short in his bid to return to the committee after a two-year hiatus. The third contested race was for assessor, where Don Garrity won over Harry LeCours.
