Congratulations to Kevin Sanford, Edward "Teddy" Sanford and Alexander Ofori.
The following was provided by Karen McAlmon: Lynnfield’s Boy Scout Troop 48, currently led by scoutmaster Gordon Forest, continues its proud tradition of developing Eagle Scouts. In 2012, the centennial year of scouting, nine scouts in Troop 48 were awarded the highest honor in Boy Scouting, the rank of Eagle Scout . The last of them, Kevin Sanford, Edward “Teddy” Sanford and Alexander Ofori celebrated at a Court of Honor last Sunday at Centre Congregational Church. They each completed 21 or more merit badges and a service project. They are now the 105th, 106th and 107th Eagle Scouts in the over 50 year history of Lynnfield Troop 48. The following was provided by Boy Scout Troop 48 Scoutmaster Gordon Forrest of Lynnfield: Over the past week, Boy Scout Troop 48 Lynnfield, along with our friends from the Lynnfield Girl Scouts and Boy Scout Troop 750 North Reading and Boy Scout Troop 119 Peabody, staffed a donation trailer at the Lynnfield Middle School for over 160 man hours during the week, gathering donated items for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy in Staten Island, NY. This past Saturday, November 17, nine of our older Scouts, myself and two other dads, gathered early and traveled to the Calvary Presbyterian Church on Staten Island where we met with representatives from Boy Scout Troop 19. The following is an announcement from Boy Scout Troop 48: Boy Scout Troop 48 Lynnfield is leading efforts with local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops and community organizations to partner with the Scouts from the Aquehonga District, the home of Boy Scouts on Staten Island, New York, to coordinate the donation of needed supplies to families affected by Hurricane Sandy on Staten Island. Starting Sunday, November 11, a 48' trailer will be on site at the Lynnfield Middle School, 505 Main Street, Lynnfield, to gather supplies. The following is an announcement from Lynnfield's Boy Scout Troop 48: Eight Boy Scouts and 4 adults from Lynnfield Boy Scout Troop 48 left on Sunday, July 29, for the Scouting adventure of a lifetime. The crew of 12 is headed to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico, and will visit sites in Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado, en route. The crew of teenage Scouts and their leaders will spend 11 days backpacking over 70 miles through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at Philmont Scout Ranch. Philmont covers 214 square miles of vast wilderness with trails that climb from 6,500 feet to as high as 12,441 feet. The group of Scouts and their advisors will carry everything they need to survive during the trek on their backs while …

Scoutmaster Gordon Forrest reports that members of Troop 48 greatly enjoyed their week up at the T.L. Storer Scout Camp in Barnstead, NH. As shown in these two photos, troop members successfully defended their championship in the camp-wide relay race and won the Magee Cup for a second year.
