LAG's annual spring arts and crafts judged show was held last Saturday.
Thanks to the Lynnfield Art Guild for the following information: The LAG (Lynnfield Art Guild) annual spring fine arts and crafts judged show on Saturday May 18 featured the work of dozens of talented local artists. The Judges gave the following awards: Best in Show to Jeannette Corbett for “The Artist.” The Judges awarded for Paintings Under Glass: First Prize to Jane Booras for “Yummy”; Second Prize to Audrey DiPillo for “Untitled 1” and Third Prize to Jeannette Corbett for “Tango Dancers #2”. For Paintings Not Under Glass, First Prize was awarded to Susan Manning O’Briant for “The Capt’n”; Second Prize to Maureen Munroe for “Yellow Polka Dot Bikini”; and Third Prize to Theresa Gambardella for “The Promise of Spring”. Annual show is next Saturday, May 18th at the Centre Congregational Church.
The following was provided by the Lynnfield Art Guild: The LAG (Lynnfield Art Guild) annual spring fine arts and crafts judged exhibit will be held on Saturday May 18 in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer Street, Lynnfield from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. to coincide with Lynnfield Day and Townscape’s geranium sale. A reception for the artists open to the public will be held on Friday night May 17th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. This is the Guild’s only judged show and reflects the best work of its members in all mediums. The four main categories are: 1) Paintings under glass; 2) Paintings not under glass; 3) Photography/Digital Media and 4) Sculpture/Crafts. Nancy O’Brien Demonstrates Portrait Oil Painting at Lynnfield Art Guild Meeting Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. at the Lynnfield Senior Center.
The following was provided by the Lynnfield Art Guild: Nancy Bradley O’Brien, a local artist from Stoneham, will demonstrate and talk about her painting process at the Lynnfield Art Guild meeting at the Lynnfield Senior Center, 525 Salem Street. in Lynnfield on Thursday March 21 at 7 p.m. The event is open to members of the guild and the general public. Her medium is oil paint with a specialty in portraiture and landscapes. Nancy O’Brien began painting as a young woman at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education and also studied at the deCordova Museum School in Lincoln MA. The following was provided by the Lynnfield Art Guild: The Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG) proudly continues its season with a demonstration of watercolor painting by Danvers artist Karen Nastuk on Thursday, February 21 at 7 p.m. at the Lynnfield Senior Center, 525 Salem Street, Lynnfield. Karen Nastuk holds a BA in Fine Arts from Fairleigh Dickenson University. Soon after graduating, she began studying watercolor with David Millard. Later, she continued her studies with Margaret Laurie and Betty Lou Schlemm. Karen is able to draw just about anything from memory, a talent she attributes to her many years of keeping a journal with sketches. Her paintings regularly win awards at local shows. The Lynnfield Art Guild will hold its annual December Art & Crafts Show and Sale on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Old Meeting House on the Common, Lynnfield Centre (across the street from the Centre Congregational Church). Entrance to the show is free. The show is always a great opportunity to purchase original fine arts and completely hand-crafted items ( no kits) in all price ranges for holiday gift giving, including a large selection of mini paintings, framed paintings, photographs, sculptures, crafts and prints. All items are for sale. There will be a raffle of donated great prizes from area sponsors including the Artists & Craftsman Supply, Sunrise Assisted Living and the Wakefield Co-operative Bank. …

The following was provided by the Lynnfield Art Guild: The Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG) proudly continues its season with a demonstration of oil painting by Cape Ann artist Caleb Stone on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 PM at the Lynnfield Senior Center, 525 Salem Street, Lynnfield. Caleb Stone, who is from a well-known artistic family, grew up in the artists’ colony of Rockport where he began his professional training. He studied with Don Stone and at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Connecticut where is has achieved the status of Elected Artist. Caleb is a representational and impressionist painter focusing on landscapes and marine scenes in New England. Although he works primarily in oil, he also paints in watercolor and pastel. Mr. Stone…

The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield Art Guild: The Lynnfield Art Guild invites the public and its members to attend a watercolor painting demonstration by Marla Greenfield of Wayland in its October demonstration on Thursday, the 18th at 7 p.m. at the Lynnfield Senior Center. The American Watercolorist Magazine described her painting process in a 2010 article entitled on “Patient Layering Leading to Vibrant Light”.
