Lynnfield Luau Celebrates Summer Reading

Lynnfield Library commemorates summer reading with a luau.

Everyone loves summer, and when children complete their summer reading assignments, that's even better. Lynnfield Library held a luau -- Hawaiian-style -- Friday afternoon for 47 students who completed their summer reading in the ‘One World, Many Stories’ Summer Reading Program. The Children’s Room with filled with bees, thanks to the tremendous amount of reading done this summer. According to Laura Bruynell, head of youth services at Lynnfield Library, although 164 children signed up, but didn't reach their goal, all were amibitious. Sarah Rose Doherty, a 3rd grader at Summer Street School, just finished her summer reading last Thursday. She also read to her preschool-aged brother, Owen, who is in his third year at Lynnfield Public …
