With renovations of Route 1 landmark still underway, The Ship's planned re-opening is now expected soon after the holidays.
Back in September, Nino Micozzi, owner of The Ship, appeared at a Lynnfield selectmen's meeting with his attorney for the renewal of the establishment's liquor license, which was approved. At the time, Micozzi told Lynnfield Patch that his new restaurant would invoke the classic earlier days of The Ship. This week, Lynnfield Patch checked in with Micozzi Management, Inc., for an update on the project. The classic Lynnfield restaurant is now expecting to re-open its doors soon after the holidays, with a tentative date of January 15, 2013. Early this fall, the restaurant ownership had initially hoped to have the business open by Thanksgiving. However, renovations are still underway in the building, resulting in the pushed back opening date. …

Students in various schools using JogNog to prepare for MCAS science test reportedly saw average improvement nearly double the average last school year.
Lynnfield-based JogNog has announced that students using its competitive learning games were able to noticeably improve their MCAS science scores last year. Last school year, JogNog partnered with science, technology and engineering teachers from various Massachusetts middle schools to work on their goals for the MCAS test. The result was the American Science Challenge, which uses JogNog as part of the test prep process, giving the students a chance to compete with their friends while building their knowledge of science, technology and engineering concepts. Statewide, the company reports that students using JogNog to prepare for the Science MCAS saw their score improve an average of 8.1% - compared to just 4% for the overall student …
