Foreclosure Numbers Up Somewhat This Year In Lynnfield

New data from Warren Group shows some increase in foreclosure activity for Lynnfield through end of July.

Lynnfield has seen an increase in foreclosure activity in recent months, according to recent data from the Warren Group. In July, there were two foreclosure petitions in town, compared to zero for that month in 2011. Year to date, there were 11 foreclosure petitions reported for Lynnfield as of the end of July. For that time period in 2011, there were only two foreclosure petitions. Overall, foreclosure activity has remained relatively light in Lynnfield. There were six foreclosure auctions in town as of the end of July 2012, compared to four after the first seven months of 2011. Statewide, the Warren Group noted that the 1,198 foreclosures initiated in Massachusetts in July marked the lowest monthly level recorded in 2012. However, there …

Lynnfield Home Sales Similar To This Point In 2011

Various signs said to point toward statewide real estate recovery.

Lynnfield’s year to date home sales held largely steady over the past year, according to recent data from the Warren Group. The real estate data company recently reported that at the end of July, 2012, there were 65 homes sold in Lynnfield. At that point in 2011, there were 63 homes sold. This past July saw a slight slowdown in sales however, with eight in 2012 compared to 13 for that month in 2011. Year to date in Lynnfield, the median sales price was also down as of the end of July. In 2011, that figure stood at $489,000 while in 2012, the median sales prices was down 13.5% to $423,000. “There are a lot of good signs pointing toward a real estate recovery," said Cory S.
