Here's a round up of the area's latest food news: There's sweet news out of the Garden City — Winfrey's has brought their famous chocolate and candies to Cabot Street. And the new location isn't just for retail. The facility will soon open a production area adjacent to the store. Slice Pizza and More has reopened after an 8-month renovation. Renovations are just set to begin at Kernwood Liquors. The plan is to make the packie more upscale. Here's our round up of the area's latest food news: We've reported recently about the reopening of The Ship, the unmistakeable Route 1 landmark. This week we uncovered a relic of that restaurant's precursor, the Ship's Haven. While searching eBay, we came across a 1930s era menu from the local landmark. Word is that the current restaurant's management ended up purchasing the menu, which will be added to a small collection of relics there from those early days. The massive complex will have many attractions when it opens in late 2013. Among them, we learned last week is that the Whole Foods there will sell beer and wine.
