Local Synchronized Swimmers Compete In Championships

The North Shore Selkies is a team of synchronized swimmers who live in various local towns, including Lynnfield. At least three Lynnfield residents have been members of the team over the past couple of years. Thanks to Heather Sievers for the following account of the team's recent championship meet: The North Shore YMCA Selkies synchronized swim team performed well, capturing the high point trophy for its region at the New England Synchronized Swimming Association (NESSA) Junior/Senior Championships hosted by the team on Saturday, January 19th. Local Synchronized Swimmers Send Costumes To Jamaican Team

Three Lynnfield girls are currently members of the North Shore Selkies synchronized swim team.

The following was provided by the North Shore Selkies: The North Shore YMCA Selkies Synchronized Swim Team recently reached out to a former team of the Selkies’ Head Coach Carrie Reynolds.  When the Selkies learned that the Synchro Stars, a Jamaican synchronized swim club, had a need for more costumes, the Selkies packaged up their old costumes to send along to the Jamaican team.  Here, team members (front row, l to r) Molly McKeon, Meghan Huston, and Annalise Errico; (back row, l to r)Madeleine Hines, Hope Weaver, Jenny Page, Melissa Freed, Laura Mucci and Rebecca Sievers show off some of their favorite past costumes and head pieces.  The Selkies’ next local appearance will be on October 20th at the Essex Clamfest, where the team will be …

North Shore Selkies Welcome New Coach

Area synchronized swim team has three members from Lynnfield.

The Northshore YMCA Selkies synchronized swim team is pleased to welcome new Synchronized Swim Head Coach Carrie Reynolds for the team’s 2013 season.    Ms. Reynolds has recently returned to the Boston area from a two year stint in Jamaica where she coached the National Synchronised Swimming Team of Jamaica, as well as a top synchronized swim club, the Synchro Stars.  In addition to coaching, Ms. Reynolds was a member of Jamaica’s Synchronised Swimming National Team Selection Committee and was named a member of Jamaica’s Synchronised Swimming Technical Committee, where she was in charge of Athlete Development focusing on improving the performance levels of Jamaican synchronized swim athletes.  Prior to coaching in Jamaica, Ms. Reynolds was…

Grades 1-9: Interested In Synchronized Swimming?

North Shore Selkies, which has at least two members from Lynnfield, holds introductory clinic starting Monday at YMCA of the North Shore.

The following is an announcement from the North Shore Selkies Synchronized Swim Team: On Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 23, the YMCA of the North Shore Selkies will be hosting an Introduction to Synchronized Swimming Clinic for girls and boys entering grades 1-9.  The clinic will run from 10:30 to 12:30 each day at the Sterling Center YMCA at 254 Essex Street in Beverly, Massachusetts.  The cost of the clinic is $130 for YMCA members or $180 for non-members.  At least two Lynnfield residents are members of the North Shore Selkies. Participants in the clinic will get a chance to explore this beautiful Olympic sport that combines aquatic athletics with the artistry of dance and gymnastics.  The clinic will provide instruction in …
