State police say two teens were arrested Wednesday night after leading troopers and local officers on a foot chase near Spinelli's off Route 1. The pair was charged with car theft and resisting arrest.
State police say it was thanks to a Good Samaritan that officers tracked down a stolen car and two suspects in Peabody Wednesday night. An alert was broadcast by the state police barracks in Newbury for patrols to be on the lookout for a stolen 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser on Wednesday evening. Around 7:30 p.m., a Good Samaritan then called state police after spotting the car pull into Gaeta's Gas & Towing on Route 1 South and the two occupants flee on foot toward Spinelli's. A chase ensued with state troopers and local police officers searching outside the function facility and woods around Suntaug Lake for about an hour-and-a-half before finding the suspects hiding in a Dumpster behind Spinelli's. A man acting suspiciously near a Danvers bank on Thursday was tracked down in Lynnfield, where he was arrested for allegedly possessing heroin.
A man who was acting suspiciously around a Danvers Square bank on Thursday afternoon was arrested less than two hours later for allegedly possessing heroin. It started at about 4 p.m. when an alert employee at North Shore Bank on Elm Street saw a man looking in the bank windows. The man also came in to the bank and left without conducting any business, said Danvers Police Sgt. Robert Bettencourt. That prompted a call to police. The man was gone when police arrived but they asked other departments in the area to be on the lookout for the vehicle he was driving, a Nissan Maxima. Massachusetts State Police and local police departments will be out this holiday weekend looking for drunk, impaired and dangerous drivers.
Drunk driving arrests by Massachusetts State Police increased by 30 percent or more than 1,100 drivers, said Massachusetts State Police Superintendent Colonel Timothy Allen at a press conference outside of Massachusetts State Police headquarters in Framingham Friday morning. As of yesterday, Dec. 27, Massachusetts State Police had arrested 4,866 individuals and charged them with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. In 2011, Massachusetts State Police arrested 3,728 individuals. A state police trooper suffered minor injuries after a passing vehicle struck his elbow while the trooper was making a traffic stop on Route 128 Tuesday morning.
A state police trooper was injured Tuesday morning after he was struck by a passing motor vehicle on Route 128. Initial reports placed the accident in Peabody, but state police confirmed later it was over the town line in Lynnfield. State police say the trooper was conducting a routine motor vehicle stop on the southbound side of the highway near the Route 1 off-ramps at approximately 9:44 a.m. when he was struck on the elbow by a passing vehicle. The trooper, whose name was not released immediately, only suffered minor injuries and was able to get up and walk. Individual wanted by anti-gang unit eluded police for a brief time on Thursday afternoon.
Massachusetts State Police apprehended a suspect Thursday afternoon in Lynnfield near Ledge Road after he briefly got away from them. Helicopters and state troopers had a heavy presence in Lynnfield during the search for the suspect, who is apparently a subject of an ongoing investigation. Trooper found six pounds of marijuana during traffic stop on Route 128.
State Police arrested a man for possession of six pounds of marijuana during a Sunday afternoon traffic stop in Lynnfield. According to a State Police report, Trooper Brian Quigley pulled over a car in Lynnfield for excessive window tinting, and upon subsequent investigation, allegedly found six pounds of marijuana, $2,500 in cash and "other items associated with drug distribution" in the vehicle. A Boston Herald report added that along with having excessively tinted windows, the driver was allegedly driving very slowly on Route 95. He reportedly declined to roll down his window at first, and when he did, the odor that came out of the car tipped off the trooper to the presence of the marijuana. Vehicle on 95 South in rollover accident Monday morning, two brought to Mass. General Hospital.
Two individuals were reportedly brought to Mass. General Hospital Monday morning after a rollover accident on Route 95 South in Lynnfield. The accident occurred soon after 8 a.m. on Monday and initial reports on social media said that there had been multiple ejections from the vehicle. However, a Massachusetts State Police spokesman indicated that this had been a "wild exagerration" and reported that two people had sustained minor injuries in the rollover. Both were reportedly transported to Mass. General Hospital. As of 9 a.m., the vehicle was still being removed from the scene and two lanes of traffic on 95 South remained closed. State Police charge man after incident where he fell asleep and drove into vehicles parked at Kelly Nissan on Route 1.
The state police have filed charges against a 22-year-old Peabody man following an incident early Sunday morning that left several vehicles totaled. According to the state police, Derek J. Ho was driving a 2005 Infiniti G35x when he apparently left the roadway and collided with two vehicles parked at the Kelly Nissan dealership on Route 1 in Lynnfield. Rescue personnel transported Ho to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he was treated for his injuries. No other injuries were reported in the crash. State Police charged Ho with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stay within marked lanes, and speeding.

State Police charged a 42-year-old Lynnfield man with OUI early Tuesday morning after a two-car crash on Route 1 that sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to a report from the state police, troopers arrived on the scene of the early morning crash on Route 1 South in Lynnfield and found debris strewn across the entire span of the road. Troopers Sean Stowe and Lisa Cote-Barthelmess reported spotting Keith Wescott, 42, of Lynnfield, near his car and allegedly observed him to be unsteady on his feet, swaying back and forth, and with a heavy odor of alcohol on his breath as well as bloodshot eyes. The Massachusetts State Police arrested a 52-year-old Medford man Wednesday evening on Salem Street in Lynnfield after he sideswiped a cruiser while allegedly operating under the influence. State Police charged Vance Brown of Medford, with operating under the influence of liquor, 3rd offense, and operating without lights. According to the State Police, Brown's 2001 Ford Focus did not have its headlights on at the time he struck the rear quarter panel of a cruiser driven by Trooper Julio Perez.
