The New Ice Cream Man in Town
21 year old college student, George Tsakirgis, has recently started up a new mobile foods business in town. Patch talks with this entrepreneur to find out more about Georgie's Ice Cream Events.
George Tsakirgis of Georgie's Ice Cream Events is a go-getter. He's a 21 year old college student and Lynnfield resident working his way through the University of Rhode Island and continuing the Tsakirgis family tradition of owning and operating their own businesses. “My mother, Julie, owns and works for the local REMAX real estate agency and my aunt and uncle own Artichokes over in Wakefield, so working for yourself runs in the family,” explains George. George needed a way to make some extra money to help him make ends meet while studying business and economics at URI. “It all started last year when my mother and I came across an ice cream truck for sale,” details George. “I had enough to eventually buy one and it looked like a fun job.” …
