With a regular congregation of just 80 families, the Messiah Lutheran Church is much smaller than some of the other churches in Lynnfield, but embraces its small size as an opportunity for worshippers to maintain a close community within the Church.
Small details adding to the community feel abound; the kneeling benches have all been crocheted by members of the Church, montly collections are run for food pantries and walls host murals depicting Bible scenes painted by children of the congregation.
The church runs weekly youth and junior high groups, a Bible study groups on Sundays, and a week-long Bible school during the summer. Recently, the church launched a new missionary program with destinations as far as Nicaragua.
