Lynnfield Public Library
18 Summer St, Lynnfield, MA 01940
The community of Lynnfield has had its own public library since Lynnfield Social Library was built back in 1795. TheMore town's current public library building was constructed in 1904 out of a former school building on Summer Street across from Town Hall, and the current Children's Room still contains part of the original school building.
Since the 1950s, the library has seen many additions and expansions, including the construction of a mezzanine, a ramp and an elevator. Obtaining a library card is free for any residents of Massachusetts, and the library is connected to the NOBLE (North of Boston Library Exchange) network, which allows patrons to request books and other materials from libraries within the 28-member consortium.  The Lynnfield library offers thousands of fiction and non-fiction books, music CDs, DVDs and videos, periodicals and reference materials and also provides free wireless internet service.
