Walk of Hope for ALS, Local Author Talks Coming Up

A look at what's coming up in and around Lynnfield.

Today is Friday, September 6. Here are five things worth knowing today.

The 12th annual Walk of Hope for ALS is coming up on Saturday, September 7 around Lake Quannapowitt. Registration is 9 a.m., and the walk is at 11 a.m. To learn more about this event, click here.

Coming up on Monday, September 16, local author Anthony Sammarco will speak at the Beebe Library in downtown Wakefield about his new book, “A History of Howard Johnson’s.”

Later that week, Kevin Gardner, author of “The Granite Kiss: Traditions and Techniques of Building New England Stone Walls” will speak at the Old Meeting House in Lynnfield, across the street from the library, on Wednesday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Lunch and a Lecture: Coumadin/Warfarin-Nancy Eisan from Eaton Apothecary will be here to discuss drug interactions and the foods and drinks to be careful of when taking this medication. Thursday, Sept.12th at 12:30. Free. Please sign up. Lunch is served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by noon the day before.

The Lynnfield Community Church resumes its coffee house concerts on Friday, September 13 with the Just Harry Ensemble. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and concerts start at 7:45 p.m.
