Learn To Skate Program, Coffeehouse Concert In Lynnfield This Week

Today is Monday, January 6. Here are five things worth knowing today.
Lynnfield Recreation has announced a new Learn to Skate program starting Thursday, January 9 at the MarketStreet Lynnfield rink. The program for ages 3 and up runs from 3 to 4 p.m. for ight weeks, with a 10 to 11 a.m. lesson the school vacation week of Feb. 20. A certified instructor will reportedly teach skating backwards and forward, plus stopping, turning and balancing. A helmet is required, skate rentals available. On the second and fourth Friday of the month, the Lynnfield Community Church at 735 Salem Street hosts a coffeehouse style concert. Tonight from 7:45 to 9 p.m., Bob and Jenn Strom are the performers. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Free will donation for the performers.
