Girl Scout's Project Aims To Boost Recycling In Town

Lynnfield 7th grader Janna Sokolow will be running recycling booth at town's Geraniumfest celebration May 14.

Janna Sokolow, a 7th grade student at Lynnfield Middle School, is organizing and running a recycling booth at this year's GeraniumFest, which will be held on Lynnfield Common on May 14.

At the booth, Sokolow will demonstrate how to prepare common household items, such as paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, and glass, for curbside recycling pick-up.

Blue recycling bins will be available for purchase for $7.00 and "Lynnfield Recycles" stickers will be distributed for free to affix to trash receptacles residents already own.  Simple recycling instructions and a calendar of pick-up dates will available at the booth and household batteries will also be collected and recycled.
