Registration Starting for Over 40 Men's Softball

The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield Men's Over-40 Softball League:

The Lynnfield Men’s Over-40 Softball League has announced that the sign-up night for all new players interested in joining the league this year is Tuesday, April 3, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the cafeteria at Lynnfield High School. 

For those on team rosters last year who wish to play again in 2012, an online registration process has been established (LynnfieldMensSoftball.com/registration) and the deadline to sign-up is March 31.

The league is open to all current or former male residents of the town who will be 40 years of age or older either at the start of the 2012 season on Tuesday, April 24, or during the course of the 15-game schedule, which ends on Friday, August 10.  Teams play one game a week on either Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (last three weeks of the season) nights.   

The cost to play is $110 per player (non-refundable), and for those who also wish to participate in the league’s annual golf tournament at the Reedy Meadow Golf Course on Saturday, August 25, at 11 a.m., the cost is $160 per player.  If for any reason the golf tournament should be cancelled, this additional $50 fee will be refunded.
