PHOTO: 'Lancers Against Cancer' At Pan-Mass Challenge

As , Corrine Galante, a former Lynnfielder who battled cancer for years before her death in 2011.

The Wakefield resident rode his first Pan-Mass Challenge in 2009, raised about $5,600 in this year's event, and has raised just under $20,000 for cancer research since then.

Galante, a graduate of Malden Catholic, rode with several friends from the school as part of the "Lancers Against Cancer" team. The combined Lancers Against Cancer team raised about $15,000 in total for its first year in existence. Each year, the statewide Pan-Mass cycling event raises millions for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
