Photo Gallery: Lynnfield Girls Come Up Short Against Ipswich

The Lynnfield High girls basketball lost to Ipswich, 49-43.

The Lynnfield High girls basketball team looked to avenge an early season loss to Cape Ann League rival Ipswich on Tuesday night, but the Lady Pioneers hopes for revenge came up short in a 49-43 heartbreaker on Senior Night.

Senior Kelsey Mancini and sophomore Jillian Fama each had 10 points to lead the offense, while senior captain Brittany Hunt had nine and junior Kelsey LeBlanc had eight.

The loss drops Lynnfield to 9-9 overall and 5-6 in the league while Ipswich improved to 11-6 and 7-5 in the league. With just one game left on the season, the Lady Pioneers must beat North Reading on Thursday in the season finale to seal their spot in the MIAA tournament.
