The Lynnfield High baseball team beat Wilmington, 11-5, on Saturday to move into first place in the Cape Ann League Div. 2.
The bats came alive for the Lynnfield High baseball team on Saturday, as the Pioneers banged out 16 hits to beat visiting Wilmington, 11-5, to move into first place at in Div. 2 of the Cape Ann League.
Catcher Chris Klotzbier (two RBI), third baseman Dylan Costa (RBI) and designated hitter John Festa (RBI) all went 3-for-4 for Lynnfield (5-3) while center fielder Peter Franchi had two hits, drove in three runs an scored three runs and second baseman Ricky Beradino drove in a run and scored twice.
Right-hander Joe Sartorelli picked up the win in 6 1/3 innings of work to improve to 3-0 on the season and the combination of short stop B.J. Neil and Beradino flashed the leather all day, turing three double plays.

"Sartorelli pitched a nice ballgame," said Lynnfield head coach John O'Brien. "He made the pitches when he had to and the guys made the plays behind him."
Lynnfield will head to Cape Ann foe Manchester Essex on Wednesday for a 3:45 p.m. game.
