LHS Playoff Action Continues Monday

Baseball team and girls tennis team both play today. Softball playoff is tomorrow.

The LHS baseball team advanced to the MIAA quarterfinals over the weekend, defeating Stoneham at home 2-1.  Their next game is today (Monday) at 4 p.m. against St. Mary’s, a #9 seed, (Lynnfield is the #1 seed), with a location that as of Sunday evening was still to be announced. The winner of this game will go on to play either Watertown or Bishop Fenwick in the semifinal game.

The girls softball team (#8 seed) also won their first round playoff game Sunday, also at home. They beat Mt. Alvernia (#9 seed), 9-2. Their next game is Tuesday at home against Matignon at 3:30 p.m. The winner of this game takes on either Mystic Valley or Greater Lowell in the semifinal.

Also on Monday, the LHS girls tennis team, a #4 seed, plays at home at 3:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal against Lowell Catholic. The LHS team is coming off a first round bye. The winner goes on to play either Manchester Essex or Bedford.

In Sunday’s boys tennis playoff, Stoneham beat Lynnfield 3-2 and plays Hamilton-Wenham at 1 p.m. on Monday.
