It's Do or Die for Lynnfield Girls Hoops

The Lynnfield High girls basketball team must win tonight against North Reading to make it to the MIAA tournamet.

With just one game left on the season, the Lynnfield High girls basketball team faces a must-win situatuon tonight when the for what is sure to be one of the most exciting games in recent seasons. 

Lynnfield stands at 9-10 overall and needs just one win to reach the magic number of 10 to qualify for a spot in the Div. 3 North sectional. But while Lynnfield has improved tremendously over last year's disappointing season, beating Cape Ann Leage rival North Reading won't be easy. 

The Hornets qualified for the tournament with a 50-37 win over Hamilton-Wenham on Tuesday and will look to play spoiler against a team they held to just 29 points in the second game of the season.

But Lynnfield has come a long way since the season started back in December, and first year head coach Pamela MacDonald has seen some outstanding play from seniors captains Whietney Montesanto, Brittany Hunt and Morgan Festa along with junior Kelsey LeBlanc and sophomore Jillian Fama.

The energy is sure to be flowing through the crowd tonight in North Reading, so be sure to not miss tip off at 6:30 p.m.
