21-0 LNR Wrestling Team Remain Undefeated - 3 New Wrestlers in LNR Wrestling Hall of Fame

The Lynnfield/North Reading Wrestling team remains undefeated with three victories this week bringing them to 21-0 with a CAL record of 4-0.

On Friday LNR hosted Peabody and defeated the Tanners 58-9.  The evening started with Max Whyman (138 lbs) winning by fall.  Afterwards Dom Monzione (145 lbs/fall), Zack Monzione (152 lbs/decision), Joey Wise (160 lbs/decision), Max Robert (170 lbs/fall), Brandon Troisi (195 lbs/decision), Tom Arsenault (220 lbs/fall), Aaron Gautreau (106 lbs/fall), Joe Morse (113 lbs/fall), Scott McGrath (120 lbs/fall) and Lucas Pascucci (132 lbs/fall) were victorious.

Prior to the meet the LNR Wrestling Team inducted three new members into the Wrestling Hall Of Fame.  These wrestlers are Phil Bishop, Richie Falcione and Andrew (A.K.) Kibarian.  

The Pioneer-Hornets traveled to Beverly to face the Panthers and Billerica in a tri-meet.   LNR proved to be too much and edged Beverly 48-30.  D. Monzione (152 lbs/decision), Wise (160 lbs/fall), Bradley (170 lbs/decision), Troisi (195 lbs/fall), Arsenault (220 lbs/fall), Farrelly (285 lbs/fall), Morse (113 lbs/fall), Eric Kerr (126 lbs/fall) and Pascucci (132 lbs/fall) were the point earners.

In the final match, LNR overpowered Billerica with a score of 59-22.  D. Monzione had a technical fall.  All others; Wise, Robert, Bradley, Troisi, Arsenault, McGrath, Kerr, Pascucci and Whyman all defeating their opponents by fall.

This week the team is at home on Wed. Jan 29 facing Georgetown.  If LNR wins, they would earn the CAL Championship for the second consecutive year.  The meet starts at 6:30pm at the Lynnfield HS cafeteria.  On Sat. Feb 1 the team competes at the CAL/NEC Tournament at Beverly HS.  Wrestling starts at 9:30am.
