Lynnfield Photography Business Using New Technology

Bob Priestley of the Priestleys Fine Art Photography recently talked with Lynnfield Patch about a new interactive technology his business is using.

A Lynnfield business is using a new digital technology for event photography that makes it more interactive.

In a recent conversation with Lynnfield Patch, Bob Priestley of The Priestleys Fine Art Photography discussed the Party Print app, which he first used earlier this fall at the fundraising event at King's to benefit seven local charities

Priestley explained that guests at an event download the app from a postcard containing a QR code. They then take pictures on their own smart phones that can then be approved by the user and sent to a wi-fi setup operating in the room. At the end of the event, the host has all of the digital photos taken by the guests, while the guests can also go home with a frame-able 4x6 print from the event - that takes about 10 seconds to create. The host also reportedly has the option of getting a photo album.

In contrast, Priestley noted that the photo machines occasionally found at weddings print out strips of 2x6 images.  Priestley can also add logos and custom borders to the images using Party Print, he added.

"You've made a keepsake from the event that you are attending," said Priestley.

At the recent Kings event, Priestley reported that guests of all ages were highly intrigued by the technology, while younger people "were all over it."

At this point however, the technology is still very much in its early stages. Priestley reported that while checking online, all he found was one other photography business in the Midwest that was advertising it.

Priestley only found out about the technology during the summer, and it's apparently only been available since early this year. While there's been "a little bit of a learning curve" with the technology, Priestley also calls it "a very helpful and promising tool."
