After a roughly two week hiatus and lots of holiday parties, the Mite A Stars took the ice to play Lexington-Bedford in their first full ice game of the season. Captain Jimmy Driscoll fired them up in the locker room with a quick pre-game quote..."To play the game is good, to win is better, but to love the game is best of all". Lex-Bed came out strong as the Stars tried to shake off some rust. They started to get their legs under them midway through the second period though and moved the puck better. Joseph Soares would fight through the defense to pop one home. As the game went on the Stars seemed to get the hang of playing full ice but came up a little short on this one. Goalie Brendan Heffron had an amazing performance and kept his team in it throughout the game with some huge saves. Jimmy Driscoll showed some extra effort out there today and earned himself the game puck. The Stars will practice hard and be prepared to come out flying next game. They should be proud of the job they did today considering it's a whole new game to them!
