Brothers' Sixth Sense

Brothers in general, especially those close in age, always seem to have a sixth sense. The Mite A Stars team is most likely the only one in the league with three sets of brothers on the ice working together. Two sets of twins and a set of "Irish twins" proved this theory correct today with an unbelievable performance throughout the game. After a famous quote from the "Great One" was read to the team by Captain Dion Sacca, play got underway. The first set of brothers got it going early. James Glowacz in net made a big save that was cleared away by Jonathan Soares. Joseph Soares fired the puck up to James' brother Jack who sniped it top shelf on a stunned Cape Ann goalie. Say those names fast and your head begins to spin! Speaking of spinning, Jack whirled his way out of trouble and would find the top corner again later in the period for his second of the game. The next set of brothers put on a show today as well. They say kids don't play much street hockey anymore but it was obvious today how much Cam and Tim Sullivan work on their form in the driveway. A slap pass from Timmy to Cam sent him in alone. Cam made a quick move and roofed this one over the opposing goalie's shoulder. Not to be outdone, later in the game, Timmy Sullivan broke free from a Cape Ann defender and showed some of his amazing moves before firing the puck home. This, along with his incredible effort today earned Tim the game puck. The senses were definitely heightened today for sure. Melrose may want to have an extra practice this week to prepare for next Sunday's game. This Stars team is obviously about to break out and then there is no stopping them! If only the coaches could get all of the J names straight...
