Spring Auction Fiesta to Benefit Summer Street School

Community Businesses and Parents Asked to Donate Auction Items

The following was provided by the Summer Street School PTO:

The Summer Street School PTO is planning an auction to benefit the students at the school.   The Fiesta is scheduled for Saturday April 27, 2013 from 7:00-11:00pm at the Ferncroft in Middleton and will feature a DJ, Mexican fare and an auction with exciting items ranging from sporting tickets to restaurant gift certificates to two nights at a luxury hotel in San Francisco.   Tickets for the event are $50 before March 31 and $60 in the weeks leading up to the event (until maximum capacity is reached).

The Auction Committee is asking members of the community to donate goods and services, sporting event tickets, gift cards and other items to auction.  All proceeds from the auction will benefit the children of Summer Street School.

The PTO supports the school in a variety of ways; according to PTO president Linda Burns, “our goal is to supplement and enhance the great work the teachers at Summer Street do everyday.  From supporting technology needs to bringing field trips to the school like visits from Drumlin Farm and Plimouth Plantation to math and science programs, we strive to enrich the student’s educational experience.”

Claire Manning and Heather Rose, auction co-chairs, said “while we are hoping all members of the Summer Street School community attend the auction for a fun-filled evening, we are looking to members of the greater Lynnfield community to support us as well by making donations to the auction in an effort to continue to enable the PTO to put on outstanding programs for our children.”
Local businesses already supporting the event include Baubles, a fine jewelry boutique in Lynnfield’s Post Office Square, Crystal Joyce Dance Academy in West Peabody and Mackin & Young, Inc., a Lynnfield based landscaping company.  The auction committee greatly appreciates their support.
