School Committee to Interview Jane Tremblay for Superintendent

Principal of Summer Street School will be interviewed on Thursday, Nov. 21 at Huckleberry Hill School all-purpose room. The public is welcome to attend.

The following was provided by the Lynnfield School Committee: 

The School Committee is in the process of seeking a new Superintendent to begin leading the Lynnfield Public Schools on July 1, 2014.  The decision was made by the Committee to seek internal candidates before opening an external search.

Jane Tremblay, the current Principal of Summer Street School has applied for the position and will be interviewed by the School Committee on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00PM.  The interview will take place in the Huckleberry Hill All-Purpose Room.  The public is welcome to attend and observe the interview.  However, due to scheduling conflicts, it will not be televised.

Ms. Tremblay has served as Principal of Summer Street School for the past 10 years.  Prior to that, she taught at Huckleberry Hill School from 1986-2004, beginning as a Kindergarten teacher for two years before becoming a Second Grade teacher.  She also served as Acting Principal at Huckleberry Hill for part of the 2003-2004 school year.

In addition to her responsibilities in Lynnfield, Ms. Tremblay is an Adjunct Professor at the Merrimack College Graduate School of Education, where she has taught various classes in Early Childhood Education and Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment.   She has also presented to and consulted with numerous organizations and school districts on the use of data and data teams to improve student achievement and instructional practices.

Ms. Tremblay is the recipient of the 2012 Thomas C. Passios Outstanding Principal Award and is a member of the National Distinguished Principal Award Class of 2012.
