Library Holds Annual Holiday Choral Concert

Singers from LMS, LHS entertain a full house with Christmas, Hanukkah classics.

Choral singers from and put on their annual holiday concert at the library on Thursday night.

The concert has emerged as an annual town tradition in its own right, with the library having hosted it for over a decade now.

Led by Music Director Douglas Hodgkins, the Lynnfield High School Chamber Singers started off the night with Christmas and Hannukah selections ranging from "Yule Be Swingin'" to "Beautiful December" to "Hineh Matov."

Up next was a set from the Lynnfield Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Chorus, led by Music Director Stephen Bloom with Daniel Padgett on the piano. Among the selections were two John Lennon songs - Imagine and Happy Xmas, while the group also performed "Somewhere in My Memory," a song that first appeared in the movie Home Alone two decades ago.

The Middle School's Pioneer Singers - also led by Bloom, with Padgett playing piano - wrapped up the evening with selectins from Handel, among others.
