The LHS Band Boosters would like to thank everyone who supported the annual Pie Fundraiser.  Not only did the event help raise money for equipment, repairs, etc for the LHS Pioneer and Jazz bands, but the group, through the generosity of the community, donated 55 pies to Haven from Hunger - a local food pantry in Peabody.

On November 20th when the pies were delivered, Haven from Hunger had just completed distributing over 140 Thanksgiving meals to families and there was not a single dessert of any kind left in the pantry.  The donated pies will be served on Thanksgiving Day as part of the pantry's meal service and remaining pies will be distributed to families at Christmas time.

Under the direction of teacher Tom Westmoreland, LHS Band students are encouraged to not only share their enthusiasm for music, but give back to the community.  They regularly perform locally for various senior citizen groups and during the annual band trip the group chooses an organization to partner with, ranging from entertaining veterans at a hospital in Tennessee to hosting an instrument awareness session for under priviledged children in Chicago.

The LHS Band Boosters looks forward to continuing this new tradition of helping to feed the hungry again next year!
