Last Chance: Various Adult Ed Classes Start Soon

Lynnfield Community Schools has a variety of adult education classes starting up. Here's a handful that start in only about a week, with registration time rapidly running out.

Here are some of the adult education classes that are set to begin later this month with Lynnfield Community Schools. In many cases, decisions are made a week in advance on whether a class will be held or not - so don't hesitate to sign up for a class if you're interested in one. You can call 781-334-5814, email LCS@lynnfield.k12.ma.us, or stop by the Lynnfield Community Schools office at LHS.

GET FIT – A class for those who want to start or restart an exercise program but don’t know where to begin.
We will start slow, progressing as we get stronger. Information on how to exercise on your own and general
nutritional guidance will also be provided. Feel better by summer and enjoy life more. Make the commitment;
you will be glad that you did. Being held at the Lynnfield Town Meetinghouse, Lynnfield Common.
Instructor: Patty Fabbri, CPT, Black Belt, Certified Yoga Instructor
Dates: Tuesday and/or Thursday
March 27- June 19, or March 29 to June 21
10:15 – 11:15 a.m.
Cost: $126.00 for Tuesday or Thursday

TAI CHI – It is an ancient, yet still widely popular medicinal martial art from China practiced in parks
throughout for pleasure as well as health benefits. Tai Chi is a moving meditation, with gentle poses
performed in series. Tai Chi is an excellent practice to improve concentration, balance and strength. It has
also been shown to help manage stress, improve flexibility, and reduce arthritic pain and blood pressure. It is
a perfect complement to a traditional exercise routine; a chance to slow down, relax and take a break from
the fast-paced world. Being held at the Lynnfield Town Meetinghouse, Lynnfield Common.
Instructor: Patty Fabbri, CPT, Black Belt, Certified Yoga Instructor
Dates: Tuesday and/or Thursday
March 27 – June 19, or March 29 to June 21
9:15 – 10:15 a.m.
Cost: $125.00 for Tuesday or Thursday
(More expensive than Tai Chi in the evening, due to fact we need to rent the Meeting House.)

STRENGTH TRAINING – Please note the session you would prefer on the registration form. Class will meet
in the Lynnfield High School weight room. Students will get an overview of how to exercise to gain the most benefit in
the least time and as well as the knowledge and skills to design workouts at their gym and home. They will learn learn the
principles and techniques of weight training, including proper form and safety precautions, to improve strength endurance
and muscle tone. Two instructors will ensure individual goals will be addressed.

YOGA – Yoga nourishes the body and rejuvenates the spirit by letting off stress and promoting self
awareness, balances healing and well being. With gentle yoga postures we will become focused on the body,
breath and mind. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat, block, and strap to each class. Being
held at the Lynnfield Middle School Media Center.

March 27 – June 19 ( No Class on May 1)
5:30 – 7:00
Cost: $130.00 for the session or $12.00 per drop in.

FAMILY YOGA – Yoga means “union”. Learning how to do yoga together is a great way to spend some quality
time as a family. Smooth flowing yoga poses help to reduce stress and bring a sense of wellness to both the
mind and the body. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat to class. Individual participants are
also welcome to this class. Class being held at Lynnfield High School.

Opera – The Other Broadway
Opera is the original Broadway. Before there was “Miss Saigon” there was “Madama Butterfly”. Before
there was “Rent” there was “La Boheme”. Each week the instructor will take one masterpiece and discuss the
life and times of the composer and the story of the opera with audio and video presentation. Class being
held at Lynnfield High School.

HOME SELLER’S SEMINAR
In this course we will discuss the following:
1. How is the value determined when selling?
2. Can I sell my property without paying capital gains taxes?
3. Get your home prepared to list for sale.
4. Selling your investment property with tenants.
5. How to avoid legal pitfalls!
We will bring an attorney and a stager to discuss the different aspects of preparation and
listing your home for sale. This class is being held at Lynnfield High School.
