Students at Lynnfield Middle School are having a book drive to help re-stock libraries that were destroyed by the recent Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

Books can be dropped off at the Lynnfield Middle School Media Center, 505 Main Street, from Monday, January 13 through Friday, February 7, during school hours.

The greatest need is for elementary school-level books, picture books, and short chapter books.

During its 15-year existence, local nonprofit group BKP has sent thousands of books to help establish libraries in impoverished communities in the Philippines. Members meet about twice a month at Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield to prepare the donations for shipping. Learn more about the organization at their website. www.bkpinc.org.

Book donations will also be accepted at Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield, Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
