District Announces School Opening Schedule

Back to school hours announced.

Note: The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield School District.

Dr. Thomas W. Jefferson, Superintendent of Schools, announces that the will open for students in Grades 1-12 on Wednesday, August 31.  Preschool and Kindergarten orientation is on Thursday, September 1 and Friday, September 2.  School hours for the 2011-2012 year will be as follows:

MIDDLE SCHOOL

7:50 AM – 2:00 PM                                     

HIGH SCHOOL

8:00 AM – 2:26 PM 

SUMMER STREET SCHOOL                              

8:30 AM –    2:30 PM

Summer Street .7 Day Kindergarten                   

8:30 AM – 12:00 NOON

HUCKLEBERRY HILL SCHOOL                         

9:00 AM – 3:00 PM                               

Huckleberry Hill .7 Day Kindergarten                 

9:00 AM –12:30 PM

PRESCHOOL          

AM SESSION
8:00 AM–11:00 AM  Monday - Friday

PM SESSION         
11:30 AM– 2:30 PM Monday - Thursday                        

Thursday and Friday, September 1 and September 2 are orientation visits to the school for kindergarten children. The schedule has been mailed to parents. Kindergarten transportation begins on Tuesday, September 6.

Thursday and Friday, September 1 and September 2 are also orientation days for Lynnfield Preschool. The schedule has been mailed to parents. Preschool transportation begins on Tuesday, September 6. High school and middle school students will ride on the same buses in the morning (only).  Please check the local papers for bus routes.

Lunch will be available at all school buildings starting on Wednesday, August 31.

Pupils who will attend Lynnfield Public Schools for the first time should be registered at their respective schools prior to school opening.
