Foreclosure Activity Stayed Low For Lynnfield This Year

Very little foreclosure activity recorded in Lynnfield throughout 2013.

New data from the Warren Group finds that Lynnfield’s housing market remains largely free of foreclosure activity.

The latest report from the real estate information organization showed three foreclosure petitions filed in Lynnfield through the end of September, 2013. For that same period in 2012, there had been 17 foreclosure petitions filed.

The Warren Group also noted that two foreclosure auctions were recorded in Lynnfield in 2013 as of the end of September, compared to six at that point in 2012.

"The foreclosure numbers in September and the third quarter further bolster the opinion that foreclosures are in full retreat due to a booming real estate market and government programs designed to assist homeowners who are delinquent on their mortgages," said Timothy M. Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group. "It's been a solid year of foreclosure decreases, indicating the worst of the housing crisis is over."
