An American Classic on Half an Acre

Each week, Lynnfield Patch takes a look at a distinctive home on the market in town.

I think some folks are bound to know what I mean when I call this house at 674 Main Street "an American Classic." It's real. That huge porch. The nice big yard. A barn out back. Construction Year: 1900. If there's an apple tree anywhere on the grounds, I like it even more.

This is the sort of place that begs for a cold lemonade after you're done mowing the lawn, he waxed whimsically on a late Friday afternoon. It invokes thoughts of past generations and of great holiday gatherings perhaps. But here's what it really reminds me of - It's the sort of house where Ray Bradbury would have set one of his legendary stories in, if that obscure mention makes any sense whatsoever here.

So here's a bit more - the living room has a fireplace and a custom mantel. There's a library. And a total of nine rooms with over 2,700 square feet of living space. And the three-car garage/barn has a loft.

This home is listed by Northrup Associates, Maureen Rossi. For property assistance, call Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage at 866-339-6533.
