VIDEO: The Library As A Destination And Community Center

Lynnfield Library had a strong 2012 as it continued working on its long term plan, reported Director Nancy Ryan at this week's selectmen's meeting.

Earlier this week, Lynnfield Library Director Nancy Ryan delivered her yearly budget presentation to selectmen. For the coming year, this year's library requests will include money to provide three additional computers, an additional circular desk, and possibly some tablets or mobile devices.

As the library works to keep up with the demands of the community by offering eReader classes with Assistant Library Director Samantha Cabral, Ryan noted Money night that ebook checkouts have risen 58% in the last six months alone in Lynnfield.

In general, Ryan reported a strong and productive 2012 for the library - but she also noted that in time, the town may have some investments to consider as the current building's space limits are tested.
