Town Set To Start 2012 Road And Sidewalk Repairs

State Legislature kept Chapter 90 road repair funding tied up for three months. Handful of streets in Lynnfield set to have work done in the coming weeks.

The town is finally set to begin its road and sidewalk reconstruction program in the coming weeks now that state funding has been freed up in the legislature after a three-month delay.

At this week’s selectmen’s meeting, Town Administrator Bill Gustus reported that the road paving projects listed below are expected to get underway soon – although it remains to be seen if there will be other factors to weigh down progress, such as some gas line work that may need to be done, not to mention the sudden high demand among towns for a limited number of contractors. The total cost of the road repairs is expected to be $405, 915, noted Gustus.
