PHOTOS: Town Holds Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

Local students, clergy and public safety personnel participated at 11 a.m. Friday.

Representatives from town government, public safety, clergy and the school system came together Friday morning for Lynnfield's annual Veterans Day observation.

"All of these men and women gave up the normalcy of their lives so we could enjoy ours," Selectman Arthur Bourque told the gathering on Lynnfield Common.

Other speakers included Rev. Dennis Bailey of the Centre Congregational Church and Lynnfield Police Officer Matt Labonte. The Lynnfield Pioneer Singers were also on hand to sing the national anthem.

"Our veterans represent the best of America," said Fire Chief Tom Bogart. "Coming from every background and every walk of life, they represent the rich tapestry of our nation and the multitude of cultures that make the United States unique upon the earth."
