The following is an announcement from the office of Rep. Brad Jones, Jr.
Representatives Bradley H. Jones, Jr. (R-North Reading) and Donald Wong (R-Saugus), along with Senator Katherine Clark (D-Melrose), in conjunction with the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), are pleased to announce that the Lynnfield Cultural Council has been awarded a Local Cultural Council Program grant from the MCC totaling $3,870.
Announced by the MCC as part of a statewide funding initiative, the grant will help to support a variety of cultural activities to benefit local residents.
“I am pleased the MCC has afforded the Lynnfield Cultural Council the opportunity to continue the amazing work they do to bring the arts to the residents of Lynnfield,” said Representative Jones. “This funding will help continue the ongoing outreach initiative and success of the Cultural Council here in Lynnfield.”
The Local Cultural Councils comprise the most extensive public cultural funding network in the nation. They continue to provide funding to every Massachusetts city and town through 329 local councils and more than 2,300 volunteers.
“During this time of economic need, we are grateful to have received this grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council,” said Representative Wong. “I look forward to the Lynnfield Cultural Council’s ongoing effort to bringing cultural and artistic events and activities to the town of Lynnfield.”
“These grants play a central role as we work to develop our local cultural council programs,” said Senator Clark. “With the help of this grant, the Lynnfield Cultural Council will be able to continue its mission of supporting local arts programs for the community.”
