Town Holds Annual Ceremony For Veterans

Thanking those who served.

Lynnfield honored its veterans earlier this month with an annual ceremony held on the town common next to the .

Music was provided by the Laconia High School Band, and Fire Chief Tom Bogart and Selectmen's Chair Al Merritt were among the speakers.

"Our vets represent the best of America, coming from every background and every walk of life," said Bogart. "On Veterans Day we have the opportunity to thank them."

Attendees began with the pledge of allegiance while Reverend Michael Dangelo of delivered an invocation. An honor guard also fired a salute and two buglers performed Taps.

During the ceremony, officers Nicholas Secatore and Matthew LaBonte were acknowledged for the work they do on behalf of Lynnfield's veterans. The two handle outreach efforts and other services for local veterans who may be in need of information or other assistance.
