Selectmen Approve Two Additional Library Parking Spaces

Also, Liz Visco becomes newest member of the Lynnfield Cultural Council.

At this week’s board of selectmen meeting, members approved a request to have two 20-minute parking spaces in front of the on Summer Street.  The spaces would be for people who need to return materials or just need to briefly visit the library.

The selectmen also appointed Lynnfield resident Liz Visco to an open vacancy on the Lynnfield Cultural Council.

Visco, who is a member of the Lynnfield Art Guild, explained that she has had a lifelong interest in the arts.  She would like to serve the Lynnfield community as a member of the Cultural Council.  “I have some experience with other organizations and I thought I could bring that here,” Visco said.

Chairman of the board of selectmen Arthur J. Bourque III mentioned that the Christmas gala at the town common on Saturday was a success.  According to the chairman, approximately 1,000 people attended the event.

“It was a great crowd on the common.  The community spirit really showed through,” Bourque said.  “Tricia Torosian from the recreation commission deserves a tremendous amount of credit…  It was well coordinated, it was well done by everybody involved and they deserve a lot of credit, so I just wanted to thank them for that.”
