RMLD: Power Fully Restored In Coverage Area

Still, some homes with damaged wires and electrical systems likely to require additional work.

In a Thursday morning announcement, Reading Municipal Light Department announced that power has now been restored throughout its coverage region.

Work crews from several Massachusetts towns and cities, as well as tree crews from Vermont and Maine, worked almost around the clock earlier this week to restore power throughout the RMLD coverage area, which includes Reading, North Reading, Wilmington and Lynnfield Center.

At the height of the problem, as many as 7,000 RMLD customers were without power, about 700 of them in Lynnfield.

Residents who remain without service are asked to call RMLD at 781-944-1340. Those whose electrical service has been pulled from the side of the building as a result of the storm will need repairs by an electrician, following approval from a wiring inspector.
