Recycling Center Announces Dates For Christmas Trees

The following is an announcement from the Town of Lynnfield:

The DPW Yard Waste Recycling Center will be open (weather permitting) to Lynnfield residents who have current recycling stickers beginning Tuesday, January 3rd to Saturday, January 14th from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. each day, excluding Sunday Jan. 8, to accept Christmas trees.

Please do not place them out with your trash because they cannot and will not be picked up by our trash collection contractor. Christmas trees must have all decorations removed so that it can be put through a brush chipper.

In the event of a snow storm the Center will close for the day and reopen the following day.

If you need to purchase a recycling sticker (current stickers are good until June 30, 2012) you may do so by stopping by the DPW Office at Town Hall before entering the Recycling Center. The cost is $10 ($5 for seniors over 65). If you have any questions you should call the DPW Office at 781-334-9500.

If residents are unable to bring their trees to the Recycling Center you may want to call Amy Council at (781)-334-7018 of the Lynnfield High School Swim Team who will pick them up for a donation of $10 for trees under eight feet and $15 for trees eight feet and taller. Trees will be picked up on the weekends of January 7-8 and 14-15. All proceeds benefit the Swim Team.

Reservation must be made in advance. Reservation forms can be picked up at the DPW Office, Library, the Center Post Office or Lynnfield Meat and Deli. You can use the form attached which can either be emailed back to the DPW Office at dpw@town.lynnfield.ma.us or fax it to us at (781)-334-9509.All reservations MUST be received by Thursday, Jan. 5th or Thursday, Jan.12th for that weekend pickup.
