POLL: Do You Support Banning Leaf Blowers?

The town of Marblehead will discuss the issue at Town Meeting and other communities are also exploring the idea.

Town Meeting in Marblehead plans to debate whether to this year.

The debate has been heated at time and the discussion has spread across Massachusetts.

On one side are those who say leaf blowers are a health risk, which are too noisy and damage a community's quality of life. The other side says banning leaf blowers goes too far and will cripple landscaping businesses.

Neighboring Swampscott is also eyeing a that may go before Town Meeting next year.

This issue has caused much debate throughout Greater Boston. So, we want to know: What do you think? Would you support the ban of leaf blowers? Take our poll and let us know.

Shall we ban your cell phone? Ban your car? Your lawn mower? They're pollution too. I mean, you could talk only on your home phone, get a non-motorized mower, and bicycle everywhere. Oh wait, we had that...it was called the 1940s.

Towns want to ban leaf blowers so they can rake in the fines. We are getting clipped. Leave us a lawn.

If idiots with gas leaf blowers would just use common sense maybe we wouldn't have this issue. My idiot neighbor will spend 10 minutes trying to blow a small amount of debris from the same spot when a rake or broom would get the job done in three!
