PHOTOS: The Future Fields Complex

Here are some photos to offer a very, very early glimpse of the land set to be used for the town's fields project.

Earlier this week, members of the town's Fields Committee made a site visit to the parcel of land owned by the Lynnfield Center Water District that's expected to become a new athletic fields/passive recreation complex up near the Middleton line.

This website has been covering the proposed fields complex fairly closely over the past couple of months. However, the opportunity to provide actual photos of the site has not come up until now.

When the complex is built, access will be provided through a right of way off of Main Street. For now, access is limited to a gated-off access road over the North Reading line where a left turn leads to the future fields complex and a right turn leads to Lynnfield's .

The old Danvers/Lowell railbed runs through the area, which is also apparently popular with dirtbike riders and others. There are some variations to the terrain, but little in the way of significant hills. Committee members are currently identifying grant opportunities to help fund the project, and they are also in the process of lining up private donations that will go an especially long way in making the complex a reality.

As far as the go, these barely qualify as mid-grade. Still, it makes sense to at least offer town residents a look at this area, located up near the Bostik plant and the Middleton line.
