Lynnfield Recreation Director Stacee Monkiewicz Dies At 41

Vigil to be held on the common 6 p.m. Thursday.

The following is an obituary from the Solimine Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home in Lynn for Lynnfield Recreation Director Stacee Monkiewicz:

Mrs. Stacee L. (Tyer) Monkiewicz, age 41, of Lynnfield, formerly of Newton, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after being stricken suddenly at her home.

She was the wife of Matthew Monkiewicz of Lynnfield and the daughter of Timothy L. and Lillian (D'Agostino) Tyer of Newton. Stacee was born in Newton in 1969. She attended Newton Public Schools and graduated from Mt. Alvernia High School, class of 1987. Stacee received her bachelor's degree from Bentley College, Waltham in 1992.

Stacee began her career with Star Market, rising to the rank of Front End Manager then a role in the Headquarters Buying Office. She later persued a career in sales at Russer Foods, A.J. Letizio and Morris Alper. She then worked in IT staffing at Modis until taking a leave to become a full time mom to her children.

Stacee returned to work for the Town of Lynnfield as the director of recreation. She was responsible for several town events including the Annual Tree Lighting, the "Father Daughter Dance" and the Summer Camp Program.

She was a communicant of St. Maria Goretti Church, Lynnfield and was the former PTO President at the Pre-school were she helped lead the installation of the new playground for the children.

Stacee will be remembered by her family as a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was the type of person that would do without in order to help others. Stacee was known throughout the community for her thoughtfulness and selflessness. She will be deeply missed by all her knew her.

In addition to her husband Matthew of almost 13 years and her parents Tim and Lillian, Stacee is survived by her beloved children Mason, Sydney, Madeline and Samuel; her brother Jonathan D. Tyer of Santa Rosa, CA; her sister Elizabeth "Betsy" Tyer of Newton; her mother-in-law Kathi L. (Buckless) Monkiewicz of Middleton; her father-in-law Ray F. Monkiewicz and his wife Nancy of Ipswich; her brother-in-law Patrick Monkiewicz and his wife Jess of Danvers; her sisters-in-law Katie Smith and her husband Juan of Saugus and Michelle Bustin of North Reading; her grandmother-in-law Wanda "Babci" Monkiewicz of Lynnfield; her 3 nieces, 2 nephews and several other family and close friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 in Church, 112 Chestnut St, Lynnfield, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery, Newton. Her wake will be in the Church on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.

Words of remembrance and Final Prayer will be shared at 5:45 PM. Light refreshments will be served in the Lower Church Hall during the wake. Arrangements are under the direction of the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARSON FUNERAL HOME, LYNN, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in Stacee's memory may be made to the Jordan Boys and Girls Club of Chelsea, 30 Willow St., Chelsea, MA 02150.
